Registration
The National Grooming Association is among the few associations outside of Asia that supports Asian-style grooming examination. The difference between the Asian system and other systems is that, in the examination organized by us, groomers must accumulate a minimum score of 60 out of 100 to pass.
Arbitration classes in grooming competitions organized by the Romanian Grooming Association:

LEVEL C
This is the first level for beginner groomers who have not competed before or who have competed but have not passed the exam.

LEVEL B
A level for intermediate level groomers who have competed in at least 4 competitions or passed a LEVEL C examination in the Asian system.

LEVEL A
Only groomers who have already passed a LEVEL B examination in the Asian system or have obtained at least 2 gold medals in any other arbitration system can participate at this level.

MASTER GROOMER
This is a certificate awarded only to groomers who have competed and passed at LEVEL A in all arbitration classes (Poodle, Pure Breed Scissoring, Stripping, and Free Style). Only after passing examinations in all 4 classes can the title of MASTER GROOMER be obtained.

Level C:
Competitors who have not competed in grooming examinations before.

Level B:
A level for intermediate level groomers who have competed in at least 4 competitions or passed a LEVEL C examination in the Asian system.

Level A:
Only groomers who have already passed a LEVEL B examination in the Asian system or have obtained at least 2 gold medals in any other arbitration system can participate at this level.

Certificates will only be awarded for Level C, B, and A.

Dummy Dog Class:
This is where those who do not have much grooming experience but still want to try the excitement of a competition will compete. It is exclusively for dolls (dog models) and the competition time is 3 hours.

Levels C, B, and A will be divided into 4 classes: Poodle, Pure Breed Scissoring, Handstripping, and Free Style.

Poodle Class: All sizes of Poodles. Only show grooming is allowed. Examination time is 120 minutes. Standard Poodle examination time is 150 minutes. Those who want to fix the Top Knot have an additional 15 minutes, but this must be announced before the examination.

Pure Breed Scissoring Class: Bichon Frise, Bedlington Terrier, Kerry Blue Terrier, only show grooming is allowed. Examination time is 120 minutes.

Free Style Class: Shih Tzu, Pekingese, Pomeranian, Maltese, Yorkshire Terrier, Poodle, Bichon Frise, and their mixed breeds can be groomed in any style, as long as it is well-finished. Examination time is 120 minutes.

Handstripping Class: Miniature Schnauzer, Standard Schnauzer, Giant Schnauzer, Airedale Terrier, Welsh Terrier, Jack Russell Terrier, West Highland White Terrier, Scottish Terrier, and Dachshund. Examination time is 120 minutes. Giant Schnauzer and Airedale Terrier examination time is 150 minutes.

In the Free Style Class, all non-show grooming styles are allowed. For example: Poodle in Teddy Bear trim, Bichon in Teddy Bear trim, Pomeranian in Boo trim.
For the Poodle Class and Pure Breed Scissoring Class, all scissors are allowed, but only straight and curved scissors will receive bonus points.
In the Free Style Class, all types of scissors are allowed. It is also possible to use a clipper on only 50% of the dog’s body. If the competitor uses only scissors, they will receive bonus points. Coloring dogs or using a curling iron to make curls will not earn bonus points.
Dogs must have at least 3 months of unshaved fur or at least 4 cm. Dogs that do not meet this standard will be disqualified, except for the Handstripping Class. The changes resulting from the dog’s grooming must be very visible!!! Before & After photos will be taken for the examination album.
